Who: A team of everyday people
What: Taking a stand against modern day slavery
Where: Tanzania, Africa
Why: To raise support and awareness, for organizations that are helping put an end to human trafficking
In September 2016, a team is setting out to Tanzania, Africa. Our mission while we are there is to help support a local organization called “House of Hope” that help people that are seeking freedom! “Freedom from what,” I hear you ask. Freedom from SLAVERY.
We once thought SLAVERY was a thing of the past. But we were wrong . . . very wrong. It is estimated that there are currently up to 27,000,000 people in bondage, held against their will. That means that there are more slaves in the world today than any other point in human history. The human trafficking industry is one of the largest profiting criminal organizations with an estimated market value of $32 BILLION per year. The average age of these trafficking victims is 12 years old and only 1-2 % of victims are ever rescued.
Our heart as a team is to stop looking at these statistics and start changing them. Our journey to Tanzania, Africa will be to raise support, awareness, and proclaim freedom for these victims. While we are there we will be helping “House of Hope” in many endeavors from building a safe house; to pouring into there leaders, volunteering at schools and orphanages, and sharing the hope of freedom to all that we meet. Please join us on our journey with prayer, support, and start spreading the news and promoting freedom!
Our entire journey will be documented so you can keep up with it as it unfolds, so please keep checking back for videos and updates!
